And he said to them, So it is in the Writings that the Christ would undergo death, and come back to life again on the third day, Luke 24:46
Death and Then…
There can be no resurrection if there is no death. Christ death was foretold longtime ago but that’s not all, it was also written that after 3 days, he will rise again. The birth of Christ was not the focus of His coming. It was the resurrection after His death as the focal point – the very reason why He choose death over anything else. The relevance of resurrection lies not during the day He got out from the grave but during the time He gave to His disciples the Holy Spirit. Without His death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit in us will not be realized. It is the Holy Spirit dwelling in us that made us who we are as a believer in Christ. Hid death caused us to be alive [spiritually alive while still living here on earth]. It is always the aftermath of death that we start living a full life. A person must reach at the deepest bottom of the complexity and hardship of life before a true life is being revealed.
The process:
1. Death
2. Resurrection
3. Enlightenment
4. Life – a great fulfilling life
5. Eternity

Barnes on Luk 24:46 –
It behoved – It became; it was proper or necessary that the Messiah should thus suffer. It was predicted of him, and all things have happened as it was foretold.
