Secret Message For You

"He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not." Isaiah 53:3 ESV

I could never comprehend this passage before until one day when I was reading it with an open heart, it was revealed to me as if it was just a very simple text.  Many people tried to explain it in words, they grab fragments of it and then tried to explain and the more I was confused.  I guess that is how the devil operates, they put a veil in our face so that whenever we read something obscure or complex, we will never understand the intended meaning.

I am not going to explain the passage.  I think it is a special gift for you whenever you find out whom the author is referring to.

Here’s your homework:
1. Read the full chapter Isaiah 53:1-12
2. Close your eyes
3. Ask the Holy Spirit for revelation  [please don’t use google]

1  WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed? [John 12:38-41; Rom. 10:16.]

2 For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.

3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.

4 Surely He has borne our grief (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. [Matt. 8:17.]

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all. [I Pet. 2:24, 25.]

7 He was oppressed, [yet when] He was afflicted, He was submissive and opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.

8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who among them considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living [stricken to His death] for the transgression of my [Isaiah’s] people, to whom the stroke was due?

9 And they assigned Him a grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth. [Matt. 27:57-60; I Pet. 2:22, 23.]

10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief and made Him sick. When You and He make His life an offering for sin [and He has risen from the dead, in time to come], He shall see His [spiritual] offspring, He shall prolong His days, and the will and pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

11 He shall see [the fruit] of the travail of His soul and be satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself [which He possesses and imparts to others] shall My [uncompromisingly] righteous One, My Servant, justify many and make many righteous (upright and in right standing with God), for He shall bear their iniquities and their guilt [with the consequences, says the Lord].

12 Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], and He shall divide the spoil with the mighty, because He poured out His life unto death, and [He let Himself] be regarded as a criminal and be numbered with the transgressors; yet He bore [and took away] the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors (the rebellious). [Luke 22:37.]”

The Creator?

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations," Deuteronomy 7:9 ESV

Me and my wife watched the movie “Noah” last weekend.  There are many Christian critics out there trying to say “negative things” about the movie but I like it because at least the Bible message is invading the big screen.  We watched at the Flix Brewhouse – go figure, there were people ordering alcoholic beverages while watching Noah and how he built the ark because he heard from God.  Where can you get a Bible study of the life of Noah in that type of environment?  Just remember, the movie had a disclaimer “inspired by the story of Noah” the story is not the actual chapters of Genesis where the pages is so limited.  Read the Story of Noah here: https://www.bible.com/bible/59/gen.4.esv

Imagine in your whole life that you never knew, heard or encountered God.  This movie will tell you the following:
1. There is a creator, Russell Crowe refer God as “The Creator”
2. There is a part in the movie where the 7 Days of creation was mentioned.
3. Before the movie starts, there is also a sort of review of the life of Noah, the Bible, history.

There you go, you just had a very visual Bible Study that you did not even know it.  Don’t watch the movie, it might change your life.

Some question
Was God really mad to man when He destroyed the earth and wipe out all inhabitants?
Was there really a flood?
Was there really a guy named Noah?
Was there really an ark of Noah?
How did the earth’s population replenished after the flood?
Will you come to my ark if I say that “I am building an ark” because the great flood is coming?
Will you believe that there is a creator?

Heart Function Study with MIO Alpha Strapless HRM

Diminished Heart Function
December of 2008 when I had my MI, it took me a longer time to accept the fact that my heart function had diminished.  I used to be able to push my heart rate to somewhere around 150-160 bpm on the bike.  Recently, I’ve noticed that I can barely get to 130bpm on a small hill climb.  I’ve asked my cardiologist for an explanation as to why my heart rate does not go above 130bpm and he just told me not to worry about it and mentioned that it might be due to my heart meds.  I can still exert an sustainable effort for >3-4 hours of cycling without slowing down – but just not good on hill climbs.

Nuclear Heart Stress Test
When I had my first Nuclear Stress Test right after my MI, I did not know how to interpret the images below.  During my 2nd Nuclear Stress test, I did some research beforehand on how to interpret the post stress test images.  Normally, the cardiologist will only show you the images very briefly – maybe at most two minutes and  does not dwell too much on the explanation.  With my limited knowledge about the interpretation of  test results,  I was able to to take a quick glance of the images [like a spy agent] trying to memorize the images and later did my own interpretation. I discovered that I had a portion of my heart not receiving enough blood flow during the stress test.  This means that my heart is not the way as it was before the heart attack at the age of 42 [present, 47]. I now humbly accepted the fact that my heart is never the same as compared to the pre-MI days.  Mostly doctors will not openly discuss that type of information because it does not really help the cardiac patient mentally to know that the heart function had diminished or had somewhat lost its ability to work.  Doctors only care about how the patient is able to function back to normal life without chest pains or shortness of breath.

Some patients don’t need to know that type of in depth information regarding heart function but being an active person as I am, I should know my body especially my heart function so that I can detect or predict my next MI or coming sign of death because I am not a normal person – I do weird and abnormal activities like a 25 second subsurface swim using 0 breath, or >40Miles bike ride alone every Saturday or 2.4 Mile swim.

Here’s some information regarding Nuclear Stress Test:

Below is an example of a Nuclear Test result.  You don’t need to know more…it’s just for show and tell for other interested readers.  A healthy heart should have the same/or almost the same pre and post stress test images. Note: this is not my the picture of my heartimage

Beating of my heart!

This entry is not about my previous MI, those are the old story.  I took the oath of acceptance already with the fact that I will never be able to get back to my previous fitness level on the bike or much more run a 10K and I should drop my Ironman aspirations.  Yes, I can bike 100Miles and swim 2.4Miles at a comfortable pace but at this moment, to even run a mile, my heart rate shoots up to 130bpm and I’m already maxing out.  I’ve already accepted the fact that I will remain to be a long distance swimmer and a cyclist  and not a runner, I think I can live with that.

I am sharing to everyone my “heart experience” because as you all know – you have one in your chest too.

I want to raise awareness here about how important our heart is, neglecting the health of your heart can mean life or death – meaning – you are in big trouble unless you have good collateral arteries.  I’ve been advocating for cardiac knowledge here in this journal since the beginning of this blog and also sharing these stories at work and to everyone who listens and I am really surprised that no one really paying attention about cardio exercise.  Some will just say “I exercise but does not really pay attention too much about heart rates” or some people will say “I’m ok, I don’t need to exercise”.

I understand that not everyone has access to heart rate monitors, a bike or swimming pool or a treadmill.  But I want to challenge and stir up my readers to at least attempt to raise your heart rate to an “uncomfortable level” daily.  It is very important to know that your heart can take up the load at some point.  Please don’t wait for a cardiologist to tell you that you really need to do a regular cardio workout.  You can start now.  Take a brisk walk or run for at least 10 minutes and then later on advance to a longer workout at the same intensity or a bit higher.

It’s not too late to save your heart.

Findings/Observation/Notes:
The Heart Rate table listed below are unique to my body.  There is no standard  values to compare to, so please don’t compare your data to mine.  I am male, 47, long distance cyclist, swimmer and a cardiac patient since age 42.
