I had 4 hours of sleep and Monday is my 40Mile cycling day. I had to do something in the first 2 hours of my waking hours. My watch said 12:10pm [Austin, Texas time] and the temperature outside reads 91’ F. I had two choices, skip cycling or just go no matter what. When I left home, I had my doubts if I will be able to make it back. I know my chest pains are somewhat back [I’m a cardiac patient at Day773 on Stent#2] and there is always that feeling that this is the day that I will not come back – I did it anyway. I turned on my Spotify app in my Android phone and plug in my ear buds and tuned in to Matt Redman’s album. At mile18, this song below [Magnificent] touched my heart. I stopped and placed the song in ‘repeat’. Temperature rising and I could feel that this the worst day to ride 40 miles. As the lyrics of the song started to soaked in, I feel weaker and weaker as I pedal steadily in a comfortable pace but then spiritually I felt something strange and it was beautiful. I cannot stop, I cannot give up and I was determined to be back home. I was imagining what a great way to die – worshipping God in the Spirit. I only had one prayer. Lord, “just get me home”. I pressed on as the song played over and over and I started to regain my strength until I reached home.
When I got home, I looked up the true meaning of the word “magnificent” and the lyrics of the song – one thing I can say honestly from the bottom of my broken heart – He is Magnificent.
