Principle: “If and Then” Life Experiment

“What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need.” Matthew 6:33 ERV
But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. (Matthew 6:33 AMP)

As we grow older, we become wiser. You don’t have to agree with me but that is my observation in life as I consume one “24 hours” each day. Some experts call it – learning. Learn 1 thing everyday and in a year, you will have 365. We gained insights everyday during a problem solving session. When we face difficulties each day, we always want to know “what have we learned from this incident or event? When a child makes a mistake, they said don’t scold them but instead teach them or show them the learnings. Even at big corporations, there is a database system to upload all the events and countermeasures so that the next new guy in your department does not have to repeat your mistakes.
The verse “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God” has been there for years but we don’t normally pay attention to the principle behind it or the implication. This is Jesus speaking to His followers back then during the early stage of the church – the fellowship or the brotherhood (not the organized church). Please read it over and over until the message sinks in.
What does it mean to “seek first”? What is the Kingdom of God? What is it that He wants me to do? What is the reward? What can I get out from doing His will? Will I be happy? Will I be peaceful? Will I be prosperous? Will I be satisfied? Will I be full of wisdom? Will I be healthy? Will I have a sound mind? Will my influence in life radiates to those who are close to me? Will I be able to look back 30 years from now and say to myself “I will not change anything if I have the choice to live my life over again.”
I did not latched on to this Kingdom lifestyle early. I was maybe 23 or 24 when I started but looking back now (I’m 46), I can honestly tell you from the bottom of my heart that it works. To my children Brittney and Brent (if or when you stumble upon this blog), get this principle early in your life – God First. Your life should evolve in Biblical principles and you will be amazed how your life will unfold in a supernatural way.
I don’t do things in life because of the rewards placed in front of me. I am aware of the availability of the rewards. Yes, rewards are great motivators but in the Kingdom, the idea of “being chosen” is already a huge privilege and I don’t think I need something else. (since you are reading this, you are one of the chosen also). Knowing that I am serving for the King is already a great satisfaction to me. The material things are just the top layer of overall package.
Can I place a challenge in your heart today? There is a hypotheses mentioned above, can you test it for just one year and see if the conclusion is true to you? The only thing that you have to do is say “ok Lord, let me test the hypothesis for one year”. I’m not going to tell you any specific guidelines, you will directly receive your guidelines from Him. It’s your personal journey and experiment and you should do it your own way.
One rule – listen to the small voice who is whispering in your heart at all times.
