“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13, 14 NKJV
“Sealed-established irrevocably”
Simple Christianity
1. Hear the Word
2. Trust God
3. Believe in Jesus
Then, sealed by the Holy Spirit
Sometimes I wonder why we make Christianity so complicated with a lot of rules and regulations, do’s and don’ts, guidelines, doctrines when in reality there are only a few things that we have to really do. Hear the word, believe in Jesus, and then trust God. Repeat those 3 steps daily. That’s it.
If you are following this blog and reading the scriptures daily, you already accomplished step#1 by reading the Word. Don’t stop there. Keep going…
Of course, as we mature spiritually, we bear fruits in our walk with Christ and we begin to do things that are beyond our ability and expand the Kingdom. But in its simplest form, study the Word, trusting God and believing Jesus is the most basic foundation of our faith.
Those 3 things can be be accomplished right where you are right now.
Dream: Worn out shoes
I was attending an awarding ceremony and a friend approached me and whispered “why are you wearing a worn out shoes”. I look down to my feet and saw two black mismatched shoes that was so old and so worn out. I was also wearing a short pair of pants which makes my shoes more visible and obvious to everyone. At the end, I did not really care.
