HOWTO: Echolink – Ham Radio Setup

 

1. Download Echolink software from http://www.echolink.org/register_data.jsp
2. Enter Callsign-kc5ozq and Email-
3. Run Setup
4. Launch Echolink Software and Unblock Firewall when prompted
5. Follow the Setup Wizard
6. Select Computer User – For PC Microphone and speaker only
7. Or Select Sysop – If connecting a radio
8. Select DSL/ Cable for Internet connection
9. Enter Callsign Information

10. Select North America South as location
11. Run Firewall Test
Port 5200 – ok
Port 5198 – failed
Port 5199 – failed
11. Setup complete
12. Open IE at http://192.168.1.1
13. Add Firewall setting exception to the following port
Port 5198 – UDP
Port 5199 –UDP
14. Run Echolink Test
15. Validate callsign http://www.echolink.org/validation
16. Check email for validation instruction
