Source of Help; Day139/8

A Song of Ascents. I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]–From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. Psalm 121:1 -8

Source of Help
I sometimes wonder how I was able to get by the hardship of life. There were times that I thought I would not make it through the next day. I remember the first few days after my bike accident at Mactan bridge that I could not even lie down on my back due to my severe injuries and could not even get a comfortable sleep for days. Then there was that Ormoc flood in 1991 where I was trapped in flooded city that I have to stay overnight just to witness the destruction. Then there was that separation from my wife when I enlisted in the US Army in 1992 to find a job. Then there was that hardship at boot camp for 8 weeks that sometimes I wonder if I could make it to the next day. Then next was the hardship tour for 1 year in South Korea near DMZ where all we did was prepare for a war that never happened – the weather was so cold that being out there makes you think “please just get me back inside the tent for a few minutes”. Then there was again another bike accident where two dogs attacked me 20 miles away from home and I crashed hard on a paved road and I was bleeding and had to get home by myself and struggling to pedal home. Then there was that cardiac event in 2008 which I thought I was finished.
So where does my help comes from?
