Look well to yourself [to your own personality] and to [your] teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 1Ti 4:16
“Introspection – a reflective looking inward; an examination of one’s own thoughts and feeling “
I did not realize that one of the habits that I developed was the habit of introspection. It happens most of the time at the beginning of my day or at the end of my day right before I go to sleep or during long distance cycling and swimming. There are times that I see things that I do or say that does not match to the standard of righteousness and I am able to correct myself the next time. Why this is important? There are so many reasons but the most important answer is – it gives us the ability to align ourselves towards righteousness. The other important reason is during the introspection, the Holy Spirit reveals something to us that no other human beings can ever tell.
1. Think/Do nothing else – free yourself from any other thoughts
2. Look at yourself [as if you are looking another person from above]
3. Listen
4. Do it daily
