Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.3  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.4  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my [spiritual] children are living their lives in the Truth. 3 John 1:4

4. The proving/testing of our faith produces:  
a. Endurance – The power to withstand hardship or stress 
b. Steadfastness – Loyalty in the face of trouble and difficulty 
c.  Patience – Good-natured tolerance of delay or incompetence 
d. Perfection – The state of being without a flaw or defect
e. Thorough – Painstakingly careful and accurate; Performed comprehensively and completely
