A Journey So Beautiful…

A person close to me started asking about Biblical information. I have some answers but I dislike giving answers because my answers are just my opinions. Sometimes when the Holy Spirit knocks on a person’s heart, it is an indication that something is stirred up inside our being.  It can be an event that  triggers the inquiry, it can be a conversation with a friend that opens our spiritual mind for questions or it can just be an “out of the blue” experience that you began to realize that life is too short and somehow you have to believe on “something”.

The life we are currently living will come to an end, it’s not the fear of death that drives us to faith, it’s the excitement of the question “what if there is more”?  I respect a person’s boundary so much that I am careful not to push intellectual/spiritual pressure on someone else.  Faith is a personal thing, it cannot be packaged in a box or placed in silver spoon and be given to a person.  Our heart usually gets a wonderful touch from someone mystical and then we realize that we just started “a journey” – a journey so beautiful I can’t even describe it.

Believing Without Seeing

Jesus said to him, “You believe because you see me. Great blessings belong to the people who believe without seeing me!” John 20:29

The Bible tv series from the History Channel concluded last night with a strong message in my heart and if you ask me about the best part of the story – it is when Thomas doubted about Jesus’ resurrection. We want proof, we want physical evidence, we want tangible indication of His presence.

We argue about the story in our heart.  Did it really happen?  Did Jesus really existed?  Were there really miracles?  We all posses the character of Thomas.

I doubted and I wanted proof but then when I started my journey through faith, evidence started piling up and later I said in my prayer, Lord, you don’t have to show me proof, I believe in You.

My prayer is this – may you believe without seeing.
