True Comfort
He will turn our mourning into joy [Jeremiah 31:13]
In times of trouble God will be there for us
In times of tears, God will wipe away our sorrows
True comfort is from God and not from anyone or anything
When in the deepest sadness, rejoice for there is no other way but up..
When you experience death in the family, rejoice for they are seated in the right hand of God
When you experience a relationship failure, rejoice for a new perspective is given unto you
When you experience a health issue, rejoice for you will be transformed into a better you
When you experience a loss of a family, rejoice for your losses will be returned in some other form
When you experience a loss of job, rejoice for you will be working with new coworkers and management
When you lost a race, rejoice for it is not just about winning.
When you feel so alone and everyone left you, rejoice for your attention is so undivided with God

Barnes on Isa 51:12 –
I even I am he that comforteth you – The word ā€˜I’ is repeated here to give emphasis to the passage, and to impress deeply upon them the fact that their consolation came alone from God. The argument is, that since God was their protector and friend, they had no occasion to fear anything that man could do.

Of a man that shall die – God your comforter will endure forever. But all men – even the most mighty – must soon die. And if God is our protector, what occasion can we have to fear what a mere mortal can do to us?

And of the son of man – This phrase is common in the Hebrew Scriptures, and means the same as man.

Shall be made as grass – They shall perish as grass does that is cut down at mid-day (see the notes at Isa_40:6-7).
