Saying Goodbye In A Special Way

I lost a close friend [co-worker] yesterday. When I read the news article about the accident, it felt like my heart stopped for a moment.

I came to work Wednesday morning not knowing that something bad had happened.  But something weird happened that morning because I wrote “A Journey So Beautiful”  that morning at 5am.  I stopped writing my thoughts in my journal.  Mostly now, I shared some articles about life and make comments but somehow, yesterday morning was different.  I listened to my heart.

Carlos and I shared the same passion for Christ.  I’ve known him for maybe >7 years but we don’t talk much. I don’t even have his phone number and address.  I mentored this guy in a silent way because he is a very quite guy, seemed distant and peculiar.  One day at work, I finally approached him and quoted a Bible verse as we ran our level1 one [casual] conversation. He looked at me deeply and then smiled.  I knew in my heart he knew what I was talking about.  From that time on, I  made it a habit that when I see him anywhere in the factory, I usually extend my hand for a firm handshake, a smile, a gaze and no words. A deep silent friendship started.

Carlos …
A man with few words.
A man who will not start a conversation unless you throw the first word or question at him.
A man with a silent firm handshake.
A man who just do the work without question.
A man whose silence is so loud.
A man who listens well.
A man who does not know the word “complain”.
A man who never say negative words.
A man who follows instructions without deviating even a single step.
A man who is so obedient and gentle.
A man whose friendship I will truly miss.
